Photography

I developed an interest in photography around 2005, when I began capturing life around me with my mother’s 2001 Sony FD Mavica MVC-FD75 3.5″ Floppy Disc Camera. As a teenager, my first subject was myself, as the “selfie” was becoming common practice around the world in the early 2000s.
Gradually, I began taking photos of the landscapes, animals, and buildings around my home in Youngstown, OH. I would ask friends if I could take their portrait for practice, and those snapshots would often turn into an entire photoshoot with various background choices, wardrobe changes, and rambunctious youth serving face and attitude. With more than 3,000 photos taken between 2005-2008, that floppy disc camera went a long way for capturing my teenage youth!
These days, I use a Sony Alpha a3000, Sony Alpha a6000, or shamelessly, my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. My photography is mostly limited to landscapes, buildings, abstract or liminal space in nature, inanimate objects, animals, and historical landmarks, although I will oblige the occasional friend who requires for portrait, family, or event photography for their special occasion.
